Meet our sweet special boy Splinter!

Splinter was found on the side of the road by one of our volunteers after being hit by a car. He suffered severe back trauma which rendered him unable to use his back legs or to potty on his own.

As sad as this sounds, Splinter has not let this dim his shine one single bit ! We fitted him with a fancy wheelchair which he LOVES, he enjoys going on walks and running through the grass just like any dog. He gets around in the house with a drag bag to protect his legs from getting scuffed up and has acclimated quite well to his new normal.

Splinter loves the company of other friendly dogs, he does not enjoy small children so a home with no kids is best for this guy.
Splinter needs his bladder expressed at least every four hours, so his new family must work from home or be around enough to make sure his needs are met. He will always require this care which is quite simple once you get into a routine.

Splinter can be slow to warm up to new people but once he trusts you, you instantly become his entire world. He is crate trained but only if his doggie friends are also in their crates.

This boy is such a sweet love, he does require maintenance, but the love you will receive in return is bigger than his special needs. Splinter is 2-3 years old and has a low to no shedding coat.
